Fujitsu and Sharp to launch 11 Symbian phones in Japan

Nokia‘s software platform Symbian has known a steady decline since Apple launched the iPhone, even though it’s still the largest smartphone OS in the world with about 400 millions devices. Sony Ericsson, Samsung and others have switched to other platforms, but Fujitsu and Sharp haven’t left ship just yet: the two manufacturers have introduced 11 new Symbian smartphones to be sold in Japan. However, Japan is a very special market, especially with regard to cellphones, so whether this will help Symbian globally remains to be seen.
