Samsung working on 4.5-inch flexible AMOLED display

Samsung unveiled a new, and in all honesty pretty awesome, 4.5-inch flexible AMOLED display at FPD International 2010. The resolution is expected to be 800 x 480, way better than previous models; and this little marvel seems much closer to actual production than simple concept gadget. I hereby abandon all dignity to say: ME WANTS.

According to a Softpedia article, Samsung is also reportedly developing: a 7-inch 1200×600 Super-AMOLED panel, a 14-inch transparent panel, an On-Cell 3D WVGA LCD display, and a dual-play game display. At least some of those, and the 4.52-inch flexible display, may appear at the FPD-International conference next week.

Seems like the day is getting closer for the compact device (phone, etc…) with larger slide-out screen – ipad that fits in a pocket. I’d buy that…
