RFID my Sushi !

Nikkei Interactive has some quite amusing/interesting news. Everybody knows the Kaiten-Sushi, the restaurant where the sushi are on a transport belt and where you have to be careful not to grab one that has been going around for 10 minutes. A company called Ishino-Seisakusyo Co., specialized in the Kaiten-Sushi equipment, has come up with the idea to put RFID tags in the sushi plates, and the goal is to reduce the time and improve the accuracy of the billing process. according to the manufacturer, they can even expect a 60% speed increase.
