The new Thomson Wi-Fi Portable Multimedia Player is a PDA running Linux Qtopia 2.1 with a 4″ 480×272 touch screen, Wireless G, UPnP to look at pictures or transfer other A/V data from the computer onto the local network and USB2 Host.

Microsoft’s Origami aka Intel’s UMPC: this 7 minute video shows the functions of this Origami device, that runs on an XP with an additional layer of software that allows you to use your thumbs to type text on the (touch sensitive) screen, and there’s also a launcher with shortcuts to the main softwares. There is also an interface with big buttons for the Windows Media Player.

Samsung shows new 19″, 20″ and 24″ screens with LED backlighting. This technology provides a better image than the TFT technology. At the beginning of the video, there is also an external BR burner to be seen.
