Hitachi’s 1984 robot

Here’s the latest novelty from Hitachi, an autonomous surveillance robot that tours the building on its own like a good boy. The principle is good, but if we look at it from another angle (and it doesn’t see us doing that), we can imagine a robot like this sneaking and snooping around in certain companies, directly feeding it’s data to the bosses and alerting everyone that you spend a bit too much time in front of the coffee machine, you sleep (and snore) underneath your desk or stare a bit too often at the new secretary’s short skirt… thank you, Hitachi, we appreciate your interest in our working habits!
