Anti-theft system for notebooks

The concept is the same as the systems used for car protection: you touch it, it yells! Kokuyo presents the FILESAFER PC-CARD, a PCMCIA card that screams like mad (110dB) once your PC is moved. It uses your PC speakers to produce the sound… quite fun, no?

So what happens if the speakers are muted?
Or the laptop is turned off?
Or when the PCMCIA card is simply removed?

This just gives the user a false sense of security.

Solution: Don’t leave your laptop laying about in public and invest in a sturdy laptop lock.

Well it seems that it will bypass the mute problem, it will turn on the PC, and yell if removed note properly… but this is not the perfect solution, just a fun one :D
