Sony to release a CD-MP3 player combo
According to Sony‘s Japanese website, the latest addition to the Walkman brand could very well be… a CD player. More accurately, a combo CD-MP3 player named the D-NE241. Apparently, it can read normal CDs as well as MP3 CDs (ie, MP3 songs ripped to a CD-R). At 210g, it’s definitely not going to replace the iPod nano, or, realistically, any MP3 player, but for those of you out there who can’t do without CD-grade music quality, the D-NE241 might be just what you need. No word yet on pricing or release date.
