[Incentives Show] 3R Systems’s Levitating Photo Frames
The booth at the International Premium Incentives Show run by 3R Systems Corp., a novelty goods and promotional products company based in Fukuoka, had tables almost overflowing with swag – enough to make any kid’s mouth water – including retractable compact USB and Ethernet cables, small cell phone emergency chargers with solar panels, computer mice, USB thumb drives, and all manner of earphones and other computer peripherals – a novelty collector’s paradise. One of the staffers manning the booth directed me to an alarm clock powered by water; the science of which he wasn’t sure of, but excited him nonetheless (and me too, to tell the truth).
Also present was something that can only be loosely termed a photo frame, in the sense that it’s a… a thing that is placed on tables that has a spot for photos; excuse my losing my way with words. This photo frame is held in the air by magnetic fields generated by two magnets above and below the photo module that… well, just watch the video below.
Their crowning jewel was a magnetically levitated display similar to the above magnetic photo frame, but with only magnets underneath, in the base. The module on top held up boxes that could then be spun freely, and even bumped (albeit lightly). Also in the video below:
