The TVix HD-M5000U comes to Japan with Full HD

The Korean company TVix offers the HD-M5000U on its home turf, and they will start selling this model in Japan very soon (we’re lagging behind, because it’s already available in Europe too). The advantage of this product is its Sigma Design EM8621 chipset, it supports Full HD videos. Below you have a list of specs of the EM8620, as I can’t find the details of the EM8621:

Video Decoding
• MPEG-4.10 (H.264) BP@L3, MP@L4.0 and HP@L4.0
• VC-1 MP@HL and AP@L3 (720p)
• WMV9 MP@HL (720p)
• MPEG-2 MP@HL
• MPEG-4.2 ASP@L5 (720p, without GMC)

According to the manufacturer, the M5000 supports videos in 1080i, and it’s also Mpeg 1/2/4, DivX and XviD compatible when it comes to videos and MP3, WMA, AAC, OGG and AC3 compatible for the audio files… and even DTS. The icing on the cake is a DVI port (HDCP or not?) and an Ethernet port for a connection to a local network. But still no HDMI though…
