Rakuten Inc., the famous Japanese e-marketplace operator (along with credit cards, travel, and securities), announced today that it submitted a request to the Japanese Fair Trade Commission to investigate the agreement between Google and Yahoo! Japan made last July, which saw users of the latter (all 57% of the national market share!) using Google’s search engine technology, under anti-monopoly laws.
