Sony to Outsource TV Production

Sony is making an unprecedented move of outsourcing its high-end LCD TV production to Foxconn Electronics and Winstron Corporation, Digitimes reports. Foxconn, famous (and infamous) for Apple’s iPhones and iPods, will be producing ultra-thin frameless TVs (to be put on shelves in the first half of next year), while Winstron will build and ship Sony’s Google TVs, announced last week.
