NEC presents 2 new notebooks in their LaVie range. The LA700/DD1F is an ultra-portable with a Celeron M383 (1GHz), a 12″ screen with a 1280×768 resolution, an Intel video chipset, 512Megs of RAM (max 2GB), a DL DVD burner and 80GB of HDD space… all for less than 1300 EUR. Then we have the LL370/EA1F, a 15″ screen model with a ridiculous resolution of 1024×768, a Sempron 3000+ (1.8Ghz), 256MB of RAM… ok, I won’t torture you with more specs… but this machine retails for less than 750 EUR, so this really is granny material… and we kinda said from the start that these were entry-level machines, so what can we expect more?
