WonderFestival 2006, we were there!

The WonderFestival 2006 was held in Tokyo last Sunday, and it’s one of the biggest figurine fairs in Japan with an huge number of professionals and amateurs showing off their latest works of art, and an incredible number of visitors. I have been in Japan for a while, but I had never seen such a long queue, and I’m convinced that the first ones were already present at the gates on Friday, just to be the first ones to purchase the little figurines at bargain prices or grasp one of the very limited editions.

The WonderFestival is an incredible event, and if you want to see Japan and the Japanese from a different perspective, make sure you visit the fair next year. Leave your American or European way of seeing things at home though, otherwise you’re in for the shock of your life!

Danny of DannyChoo.com and myself shot some pictures and videos, and we’ll show some here on Akiba, but if you want a full coverage of the event, make sure to visit Danny’s site where all along this week, you’ll find tons of pictures and videos of the event.
