The first xvYCC compatible laser video projector

In world premiere, Mitsubishi presents the first rear-projection TV that is compliant to the xvYCC norm and that uses a laser as a light source, or more specifically 3 lasers (red, cyan and green). so what are the advantages of this technology? A retro-projection TV is less expensive than an LCD or plasma TV, and despite the fact that the quality isn’t quite there yet, a 50″+ retro-projection TV can offer a comfort and quality that is similar to a PDP or LCD.
