Votol PK-MV300, NEC’s answer to the iPOD Video

NEC presents its Votol today, an MP3 player that can also display videos, so this is a direct competitor of Apple’s iPOD Video. You get a 30GB HDD, a 2.7″ QVGA screen and Mpeg2/4/WMV9 compatibility. When it comes to audio files, the device is compatible with MP3, WMA and OGG (very rare for a big brand MP3 player). The player measures 123x61x18 and weighs 188g). And NEC even throws in a vocal translator English-Japanese-English.

Wow! Is this actually true? I find it hard to believe. It seems the software/hardware requirements for such a thing would be extraordinary.

Perhaps it has phrases only in both languages?
