Panasonic introduces a new Parallel link robot in Japan

You’re probably wondering what a “Parallel link” robot is in the first place, and to be honest with you, until this morning I wasn’t really sure what all the fuss was about. Simply put, a parallel link robot is a three arm robot used in a factory to manipulate different object at an impressive speed and precision 24h a day. Another advantage to a Parallel Link robot arm is a 50% reduction in power consumption compare to a regular single arm robot for example.

Now the most interesting part for us here is the capacity of this robot to receive manual input from any workers or skilled staff to teach it the correct movement and how to manipulate each and every object presented in front of its sensors.

A first in this field since usually it takes dedicated engineer skills and computers to give the robot the correct data to carefully execute a task.

By developing today’s robot, Panasonic is offering everyone the chance to get a powerful robot that can be “educated” by anyone any time at an affordable price.
