[CEATEC 2010] DoCoMo leading CEATEC in mobile, 3D and AR industry (Video)
Fujitsu was one of the most exciting booth at 2010 CEATEC, but DoCoMo’s one, was by far the most impressive one with many new concept and products.
In collaboration with Olympus, DoCoMo introduced its AR Walker concept at CEATEC alongside with some nice glasses mounted AR Solution. The concept is quite simple, equipped with a GPS in this case here a DoCoMo HTC HT-02A and with this glasses mounted display you will be capable to travel around Japan or overseas and get in your own language detailed information about your surrounding and sport/area you should not miss.
Just turn your head around and you will get information popping up directly to your eye.
DoCoMo add touch and haptic technology to its already impressive 3D Glassless monitor (Video).
Introduced this July at Wireless Japan, DoCoMo impressive glassless 3D monitor featuring 8 lenticular lenses at the same time giving you flawless 3D rendering even if you are not perfectly in front of the monitor, has now been improved with both touch and haptic technology. Only capable to react to a dedicated stylus, this solution give you for the first time the possibility to “touch” what you see in 3D making Nintendo 3DS already obsolete!
Another area of DoCoMo’s AR R&D booth was dedicated on how AR could improve your way of decorating your house and how you could “visualize” some new furniture at home before being (Photo Gallery)
Simply put, this product is made for lovers forced to be away from each other and who cannot stand such ordeal. Connected to your mobile phone via Bluetooth, this heart shape sensor will record your hand temperature, heart pulsation and check to later transmit in real time these information to your lovers Taion Heart that will get your exact heart pulsation an “overall” feeling for him/her via light and vibration. Here DoCoMo is trying to reproduce the basic concept of holding hands even if an ocean is separating you… Just hope that this service will include free or cheap DATA roaming fees!
Already introduced on Sharp’s Booth these Ion based phone will help you to kill virus around you and help you to keep your skin young and fresh. Sharp also displayed some Concept Phones using this technology on DoCoMo’s booth.
Another very interesting 3D concept was introduced on DoCoMo Booth, where the company thanks to a dedicated software running on their Android phones was capable to display 3D images on 2D monitors, by just tilting the phone on the left or right you could simulate a 3D effect and see 3D images taken by a real 3D Camera, simple yet extremely well done.
Softbank goes Apple all the way with the iPad and iPhone, DoCoMo in the other hand goes Android at full throttle and introduced in Japan both the Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab. Identical to their European and North American counterpart, these Japanese model will comes with the very same specs and options.
