[CEATEC] Pioneer’s new HVT and Hi-Fi prototypes, and GPS Smart Cradle blow our minds at Ceatec
Pioneer had a rather small booth at Ceatec but came with very interesting products including future iPod oriented compact Hi-Fi and other prototypes.
HVT stands for “Horizontal-Vertical Transforming” where Pioneer is working on offering the flattest possible set of speakers in order to build-up ultra-slim products like wall-mounted all in one Home Entertainment that will for example (see photo) offer a Flat TV, with Flat 5.1 Virtual Surround speakers and iPod Dock (behind the mirror on the left side of the TV in the picture), or ultra Flat powerful Audio speakers and finally High-end high-quality ultra slim PC speakers.
Introduced in May, Pioneer was showing off some of its latest iPod Dock with Video Support compact Hi-fi with CD player like the XW-NAV1 Series, XW-NAC1 and X-NAS50-S series for example.
EVs are the future and Pioneer is working on offering their own “contact-less” solution to charge EV cars on different parking areas.
The process is quite simple; just park your car on top of one of this EV charger and “Voila” you are now charging your car internal battery.
Pioneer, in cooperation with NTT DoCoMo, introduced a new product schedule to be ship in March 2011, the Smart Cradle. The idea behind this concept is to enhanced your Mobile phone GPS capabilities with faster and more accurate GPS reading as well as providing to its owner, thanks to DoCoMo Drive Net service, enhanced route guidance based on traffic condition as well as eco-minded route guidance, weather data, areas information and so on.
