Rumors of a New Asus Eee Pad Model

Rumors of Taiwanese company Asus’ iPad competition, the Eee Pad, was joined by leaked information about a new model called the EP90, reported Ynet yesterday. Not much is known about this tablet other than its 8.9-inch 1024×600 screen and 650-gram weight.

We’ve seen this before. From so many other suppliers.
To me it seems like Asus simply had some extra stock of leftover netbook parts. I mean the screen is probably the same one thats on the t91 or whatever they chose to name their tablet convertible netbook thingy. Other than that its bog standard netbook parts. It even looks like a slightly better tablet build than the homemade offerings you find over at the eeeuser.com forums.

ASUS COME ON. GIMME SOMETHING NEW AND REVOLUTIONARY, OR AT THE VERY LEAST SOMETHING SLIGHTLY INNOVATING. Asus have shown a complete lack of anything resembling innovation in their product launches in the Eee line. This is just milking name brand loyal geeks for cash. Kinda like the shedload of netbooks they relased with “slightly” different specs.
