[CEATEC 2010] Sharp booth: 3D on the move and Ion Powered Phone
3D mobile camera and displays (Photo Gallery)
The new mobile 3D camera was all the rage at the Sharp booth. The idea is to capture motion with a mobile device and turn it into 3D video on the fly. Special glasses and a 3D TV set are necessary to view the resulting 3D movie. Also revealed today, two rather impressive mobile 3D display: a 10.6″ 3D display and a smaller 3.8″ screen.
Sharp Android phone: IS03 (Photo Gallery)
Sharp’s new Android 2.1 smartphone, the ISO3 is the second biggest attraction at the Sharp booth. It features two touch screens: a regular 3.5” LCD screen (960×640), which felt fairly responsive; and what Sharp calls a “memory LCD” screen that works even when the phone is not active and acts as a home button. Also included is a 9.6M HD camera, infrared connectivity, microSDHC storage, Flash support, a FM radio transmitter and a TV antenna. Comes in 3 colors, black, white and orange.
Full-keyboard smartphone: IS01/Lynx SH10B (Photo Gallery)
Running Android, the IS01 (sold as Lynx SH10B over at DoCoMo) features a full keyboard, fully functional smartphone for browsing and blogging on the go. With all the advantages of a netbook and none of the inconveniences, the IS01 is a crowd-pleaser but perhaps a bit limited software-wise for the tech-savvy.
Prototype phones (Photo Gallery)
The IG-CM1, a portable air ionizer (incidentally also a cellphone), which supposedly kills viruses on the go and keeps your skin young and fresh at the same time. Oh, and you can make calls with it, too. As for the SH06B/07B, its main original feature is wireless charging.
Aquos Shot phones (Photo Gallery)
3 new phones, one for each of the main carriers, the black SH008 for AU, the white 945SH for Softbank, and the black SH09B for Docomo.
Color-screen ebook readers
Also featured two Galapagos color-screen ebook readers: a 10.8” metallic grey version and a 5.5” grey or red version, both primarily designed for reading books and newspapers, but also internet browsing.
