Energy Sistem, a Spanish consumer electronics manufacturer, announced a new portable DVD player – the Energy M2700 – in a rather new form factor: somewhat reminiscent of a touchscreen smartphone with a slider keyboard, as opposed to the laptop-like clamshell of other, more ubiquitous DVD players on the market. Along with its DVD drive (which accepts DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, CD-R, and CD-RW) hidden behind the 7-inch high-resolution widescreen is a USB port and SD/MMC/MS card reader, which can also transport audio, video, and photographs to the device, turning it into a stylish digital frame. It weighs 840 grams and measures 21x4x15.8 cm and has a recommended retail price of 84.66 EUR.
