New Sharp Full HD AQOUS LCD TV’s

Sharp presents some new LCD TV’s, ranging from a 26″ to a 65″. There will be 2 series called G series and B series. The A series offered only 1 Full HD model (45″), and this B series (that will replace the A series) will offer a 37″ and 45″ Full HD model (1920×1080), and combined with the G series, that will give the choice between 4 Full HD TV’s. The G series offers the 1Bit technology and Dolby Surround, which is not the case on the A and B series. The other models will be HD ready. All new models will have a new screen with a Black ASV liquid crystal panel that offers a 176 degrees viewing angle, a refresh time of 6ms and a 1200:1 ratio. The Sharp TV’s have an HDMI port, an iLink port and DVI HDCP.

Note : I got the confirmation this morning that all the presented TV’s on the Japanese market that have an HDMI port are HDCP. As soon as you have HDMI, it should be compliant with the HDCP norm, but you’d better check that. Simply put, if your TV isn’t HDCP, you’ll be blocked in 480p when playing back HD or BR-DVD’s.
