Lumix FZ7 and LZ5
Panasonic presents two new digital cameras: a bridge model, the FZ7 and a compact LZ5.
The FZ7 offers 6MP and a 12x optical zoom, as well as 1600 ISO. the product is quite hard to fit into a category. the price is interesting, but personally, for Akiba and Nihon Car & Bike, I had to invest in a REAL digital camera, so I went for the FZ30… that I binned after 3 days because the quality of the pictures was too bad for my use. I really advise people that want to get a digital camera worth that name to make an effort, save a bit more and get a real DSLR like the Canon 350D-Rebel-KissN for example (the one I have). They’re more expensive, but the picture quality is amazingly good. To give you an idea about the FZ30: the 3 year old Nikon CoolPix 4300 gave better results than the FZ30… so I really don’t dare to imagine what the FZ7 will produce.

There’s also the compact camera called LZ5 that should really be worth the money for its 6MP resolution using the Lumix DC Vario Lens f=6.1-36.6mm (35mm = 37-222mm)/ F2.8 -4.5.
