Sanyo and NTT DoCoMo introduces the “Gorilla Plus” PND.

Sanyo and NTT DoCoMo introduces the “Gorilla Plus” PND.

The Gorilla Plus is Sanyo’s latest portable GPS or PND. Featuring a 5” with LED Backlight Toushcreen and 8GB of Internal Memory, our new Gorilla Plus, thanks to Sanyo’s partnership with DoCoMo, will feed you with real-time traffic information, latest map updates, surrounding parking vacancy information as well as other useful information on both the weather within your area and the weather around your final destination.
DoCoMo also provide some other information ranging from accommodation to restaurant recommendations.
Although this service is actually pretty useful and an interesting plus, you will have unfortunately to pay a monthly fee of 315Yen to get access to it as well as the communication charge each time you are downloading some data. In a country where each and every single phone is offered with a flat fee data plan it is sad to see that DoCoMo once again values your wallet more than your business.

Finally the “Gorilla Plus” comes with Sanyo’s PND quick start with a GPS Fix in just 10sec maximum, as well as the ability to upload POI and other useful information from your PC to your PND via an SD Card.
