New 3G phones series from Vodafone Japan
I was quite hard on DoCoMo yesterday for their uninspired designs, and here’s a nice refreshing line-up by Vodafone Japan with their 3 new phones.
The most interestingly designed device is the Toshiba 904T with its pivoting screen and use with or without the keyboard. It’s W-CDMA (UMTS) and GSM, it has a 2.4″ QVGA screen, a 3.1MP camera and a MiniSD slot. Compatibility with Vodafone Live!, Felica (electronic wallet), GPS, address book and CAST is guaranteed too.

The other excellent surprise is the arrival of the 804SS, a serious competitor of Motorola’s RAZR and some Samsungs. Korea will finally give Japan sexy and desireable phones! this phone is W-CDMA and GSM, it has a 2.3″ QVGA screen and a 1.3MP camera. It’s also word, excel and Powerpoint compatible and has 140MB of internal memory.

And finally we have NEC’s 804N, also a W-CDMA/GSM phone that has 450MB of internal memory and supports MicroSD cards too (up to 512MB). It has a 2.2″ QVGA screen, a 2MP camera, Bluetooth, it does TV too and is Vodafone Live! BB and CAST compatible.

I look over at the shelf, where my one year old Sharp 902SH is sitting peacefully. There is that look in my eye, and the phone senses something is up. “What?” it says, nervously. “What are you looking at me like that for?” I reach for my Vodafone contract to check the date. The 902SH begins to sweat and look for an exit.
