[TGS 2010] DanceEvolution on Xbox360 Kinect Hands-on

DanceEvolution

Most of you guys are probably aware of the ultra-famous DanceDanceRevolution series, introduced for the first time in 1998, where the player stands on a “dance platform” in order to hit colored arrows laid out in a cross with his feet to musical and visual cues. Mainly available in arcade centers, Konami did huge work to export their latest Dance action game on the Xbox360 Kinect and to exhibit it at Tokyo Game Show 2010.

Announced for the November 20th, 2010, this game is a real dancing simulator where you will have to move your hands and feet in front of your screen. Your goal? You will have to strike a few poses to match the silhouettes that appear on the screen and groove to the moves of pro choreography.
The interesting part of this game is the possibility to see your face displayed on the screen in real time that will provide a real touch of realism and giving you the impression of being right there on the stage.

Although, at Akihabara News, we’re not huge fans of this kind of dancing game, we have to admit the game is simply impressive. The webcam will perfectly catch your moves and will make you feel like you were there. You can play up to 4 players (via Online play) that is perfect for people to have a lot of fun when they have some friends at home. And you will also be able to record your routines, assign them to backup dancers, and watch the stage really come alive.
Graphically speaking, Konami’s team tried to provide a perfect setting for the dance scene with all kinds of dance tracks, fashions, and stage sets at your fingertips. The player will be able to see himself on the screen.
Lastly, regarding the songs, Konami offers a huge variety of music that perfectly matches to the game. Of course, the player will be able to unlock new songs by completing certain selections.

In short, Konami offers here a very pretty game with lots of fun, and that will make you sweat for sure!

The game will be released on November 20, 2010 at 5980 yen.
