Epson: Ten New Projectors

Epson: Ten New Projectors

Epson are adding new projectors to its lineup: four Mobile Models, three Standard Models, and three permanent fixture devices. All ten models use Epson’s “3LCD” liquid crystal display, which produce bright, natural colors and cut down on flicker.

Mobile Models: EB-1775W, EB-1770W, EB-1760W, EB-1750
The four portable Mobile Models weigh only 1.7 kg (3.7 lbs) and are a world-record height of only 44 mm (1.73 in), but have the aforementioned 3LCD technology onboard and are rated at 3,000 (EB-1775W, EB-1770W) and 2,600 lm (EB-1760W, EB-1750). Computer connectivity requires only a USB cable for both audio and video input, and the devices have a simple setup function that selects the best resolution for the connected computer. The first three models support WXGA (1280×800) resolution, although the last one only goes up to 1024×768. Also present is an HDMI port for full HD presentation.
Standard Models: EB-W10, EB-X10, EB-S10
More business-oriented than the Mobile Models, the Standard Model projectors are a bit more featured than their smaller counterparts, while still retaining a portable weight (only 2.3 kg, or 5 lbs) and size (just a bit bigger than a letter-size sheet of paper!). Along with the USB display connection feature shared with the Mobile Models is a VGA port; the device can also read the angle it is set at and adjust its image accordingly to eliminate the trapezoidal distortion that comes from projecting an image at an angle, and post-presentation cleanup is made easier by the Direct Shutdown feature, which eliminates the need to cool the machine down before packing. Rated at 2,600 lm.
Fixture Models: EB-G5950, EB-G5650W, EB-G5600
The three non-portable models announced by Epson are bright, vivid 5,200 lm (EB-G5950) or 4,500 lm (EB-G5650W, EB-G5600) projectors to be installed on fixtures – from the classroom or meeting room ceiling, for example. Simplifying installation and maintenance, these models also use Epson’s own C2FINETM high-quality technology to produce contrast ratios of 2000:1 (EB-G5950, EB-G5650W) and 1000:1 (EB-G5600), and also comes with a DICOM simulation mode to display medical data, such as X-ray images.
Projector Document camera: ELPDC11
Also announced is an optional 5MP camera accessory to project documents and other things – even three-dimensional objects, able to convey color and texture on a screen for all in the room to see. Weighing only 0.9 kg (1.98 lbs), it folds into a compact size measuring 270x192x244 mm (10.6×7.5×9.6 in) for easy carrying.

The Mobile and Standard models, as well as the document camera, will go on sale in October, while the fixture models are slated for a late-November launch.
