Kenwood's New Media Keg Digital Audio Recorder

Kenwood announced a new digital audio recorder yesterday, the “Media Keg” MGR-E8, in two colors – black and red. With a total of three mics – two omni-directional and one directional – this device can record 96kHz/24bit linear PCM audio, which is higher than CD quality. It has 2 GB of onboard memory, as well as a microSD slot that accepts SDHC cards of up to 16 GB. Lightweight and low-powered (the device weighs in at 87 grams or 3 oz, and its dimensions are 52.8 mm x 100.2 mm x 20.8 mm or 2.07 in x 3.9 in x 0.8 in), with a large-capacity lithium ion battery, this device is very portable. The Media Keg will go on sale in mid-September.
