Seiko active-Matrix EPD Watch on sell this December

Seiko active-Matrix EPD Watch on sell this December

Introduced earlier this year, the Active-Matrix Watch from Seiko is now officially schedule to be on sale this December in Japan. Available in 3 different colors, the SDGA001, SDGA002 and SDGA003 comes with a 300 dpi EPD (Matrix Electrophoretic) Display offering a 180-degree view angle.

These watches offer a world time capability (32 Cities), with automatic synchronized via radio signal. Each one comes in a stainless steel case, with a sapphire crystal. Battery are recharged through a solar panel, offering about 30 months of display time on a full charge.
But on top of all, we have to love Seiko taste when it comes to time information display like the quite elegant card deck style time.
Now the bad news, everything has a cost and you will have to spend from 94,500 to 105,000 Yen to get any one of them.

    I’m afraid to ask…

how much will it cost in US Dollars at this week’s YEN/USD exchange rate? :(

  • CyborgSix

At 5:30 pm, 10 Sept., typing “105000 yen to usd” yields “105000 Japanese yen = 1248.0720 US dollars”. The ones in black metal look kinda cool (the “gold” and “silver” look kinda cheesy), and cool in what it does, but EGAD. I’m not paying desktop computer prices for a watch, even a fairly smart one.
