LG or Casio? canU 502S or G’zOne TYPE-R
Quite amusing, this piece of news. Casio presents a water-proof and shock-resistant phone in Japan called G’zOne TYPE-R and today, Lg presents the canU 502S, an exact copy of that Casio phone. The specs are the same (except for the network part), so the question I’d like to ask Casio and LG is: where did you buy this phone?
UPDATE
LG Telecom to Sell Casio Waterproof Phone
LG Telecom will introduce the first waterproof mobile phone in Korea in alliance with Japan’s Casio. CanU 502S blocks its seams with rubber packing. Users can also seal up terminals for external connections, audio output, radio frequency or batteries. The model will cost about W500,000 (US$500) and is shock-proof. It comes in green and orange and has a2.2-inch LCD screen, 1.3-megapixel camera and 256 MB memory.
This is the Casio

And this is the LG

I wonder why they just don’t sell it as a Casio phone there? Does it sell better with the LG name? Or is LG actually making these for Casio?
BTW – I have this phone, and like it. Bilingual and everything. Maybe LG gave it Korean menus – so it’s trilingual.

Umijin,
LG and LG Telecom are different companies, LG Telecom is a Korean operator. It distributes this phone under the Casio brand in Korea. They just mention LG Telecom on the phone
For example, here is a Samsung cellphone which is distributed by LG Telecom.

I believe you are correct. From the information that I found this phone is made by casio but it distributed by LG Telecom. The LG company makes and distributes thousands of different products for hundreds of companys.
Is this phone usable in the US, or will it have the reversed frequencies that made it Japan-only before?
