TDK starts with the mass-production of Blu-Ray DVD’s
Category: Image - Tags:
So TDK starts with the production of Blu-Ray DVD’s (the DVd format, so not the ugly big box that we had in the first generation). So we’ll get 25 and 50GB (DL) discs, and the production should be up to 100,000 units per month by spring 2006.
I don’t know what you think, but I’m convinced that Blu-Ray has won the battle for HD video and that the PS3 will make it the default format (note that this is just my opinion, I only rule half of the cosmos, so there’s a 50% chance that I’m wrong
).

Probably you can count some of the 50% missing to your side.
Just appeared on Slashdot:

I do not know which media is better but one thing for sure:
heavy DRM is under way on any new media which plays movies.

Mmmm 50gigs on 1 disc….
I wonder how much the first load of writers will cost.
I wonder how much the first load of writers will cost.
I tell you as soon as I get one
Well I hope that the cost comes down on Dual Layer DVD-R those things still cost a fortune….
You can pick up dual layer DVD-R drives for like £25 these days.
I have had the drive for awhile but have never used the dual layer function….due to that the media is just still too pricey for my taste..I have stuck with the single layer 4.7GB DVD+-R media. but hey it works so im not complaining but it would be nice to burn more data on a single disc.
