The TagType, the kid’s JoyPad keyboard

This is quite a different keyboard (Japan ONLY), a TagType, and this prototype is meant for the kids. It looks a bit like a GameCube pad, but it hides 16 buttons, from which 10 are meant for Hiragana (the Japanese alphabet), L and R buttons and a joystick in the middle. The goal is to rethink a keyboard to make it easier to use and more attractive for kids, who use a pad qute a lot on their gaming consoles. A very nice approach to break the barriers between man (well, kid in this case) and machine.

This idea might make kids used to using a PC from a very young age, but I think there might be difficulties for them later to switch to a normal keyboard. This type of keyboard might also be handy to enable the elderly to get into IT.

watching this pad gives me a feeling of repulsion

I hate to watch insect and sea food with loads of little legs alive. Why shall I want to grab one and play with

    the shrimp pad.
