CF for DSLR

Buffalo presents a Cf card that is meant for the DSLR’s and digital cameras that ask increasingly faster memory cards. It is capable of 15MB/s transfer speed in read mode and 12MB/s in write mode. According to Buffalo, this 12MB/s is 100x, but for example at Lexar, 12MB/s is 80x… who to believe?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-ROM_drive:

“The 1x speed rating for CDs (150 kilobytes/s) is not to be confused with the 1x speed rating for DVDs (1.32 megabytes/s).

    So I would say it’s 80x.

The speed rating for CDs and flash cards is the same: 150Kb/s.
Lexar’s cards quote an X rating based on the minimum sustained write speed (80X).
This Buffalo card quotes an X rating based on the read speed (100X), as do many other brands trying to show as high an X rating as possible (and even those who quote write speed, is it the MINIMUM like Sandisk and Lexar)?
