ROBOT-ONE GT 05, The Robot battle (IREX 2005)

The IREX closed its doors yesterday and we witnessed the finals of ROBOT-ONE on Saturday. The contest was held in 2 parts, one pure combat part (held a while ago) and the second part (held on Saturday) was the DEMO. The winner got 7500 EUR (9000 USD).

We won’t present all 10 of the contestants, but we’ll just give you the most interesting ones.

The YOKOZUNA

ARIUS, who is not that bad at soccer as you can see

Metallic FIGHTER, very agile

Hajime, the cyborg Bruce Lee

and the incredible Great Mazinger, that controls its arms by synchronising the movements of its “pilot”

Just give him time – he’ll have one the size of Tetsujin (Gigantor) soon enough. He and his father have basically dominated the competition all season. Some of the other robots really got into the Christmas season and sported Santa outfits – http://www.robots-dreams.com/2005/12/merry_robot_chr.html. The events are definitely “robot entertainment”. :D
