CENIX’ GMP-M6, a new kind of portable console
Category: Image - Tags:
The Korean company called CENIX is going to release in the very near future a new kind of portable device, a perfectly balanced hybrid piece of equipment that situates itself between a portable gaming console the size of a GameBoy Micro, a PMP and an MP3 player.
This console is MPEG4/MP3/WMA/OGG and Audio ASF compatible, it can display JPG pictures on its 2″ Wide LCD (220×176), it has USB 2.0 and OTG, as well as a FM tuner… all neatly fitted in its 90×13x45.5 and 60g casing, that also has room for a MiniSD slot. According to CENIX, this console will be able to offer nearly 50000 2&3D games! So a real killer device, and congrats to CENIX for achieving this!

50 thousand games? Even if you emulate every pcengine/famicom/etc game…. 50 thousand?!
Maybe they’re using the old Atari method of counting tiny little variations as different games. Atari’s Space Invaders cartridge, for example, contained “112 video games.” Or maybe it’s a hint to the storage capacity of this thing?
I’m VERY interested in seeing where this goes. I’d love it if this device were a pocketable alternative to the GP2X, for example. Sure, I could just flash a GBA cartridge for the Micro, but this is cooler because it’s so far out of the mainstream.
I will watch http://www.cenix.co.kr/ with great interest.
