    The flash memory is shockproof, not the electronics that surround it. Stick a pen in the screen and you’ll see how shockproof it is

    Very True. Most mp3 players will survive a hard drop, but the screen has a slim chance of survival. But with technology developing flexible screens I think that we will be seeing more rugged units being produced in the near future.
