Sony NEX-VG10

Do you remember the ASP HD based Camcorder prototype unveiled during the last Alpha NEX camera launch? Well, it seems that the NEX-VG10 is now reality. Indeed, Sony US announced the official price and release date in a press Release.

Available in September for about 2000$, the NEXVG10 has been made to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Handycam product… According to the Japanese manufacturer, it’s the world’s first consumer camcorder with interchangeable lenses and the first Handycam camcorder to feature an extra-large ExmorTM APS HD CMOS sensor (The very same used in the NEX-5 and NEX-3 cameras).
Thanks to the BIONZ Processor coupled with 14Mpix APS HD CMOS sensor, the NEX-VG10 is capable to shoot video in 1920 x 1080 @ 24Mbps (AVCHD: 1920 x 1080/ 60i (FX/FH)). I hope you’ll have a video review of this product when it comes out. I’m also interested to see some sort of tests and review for the RAYQUAL lens adapters for this camera type. I have a Nikon SLR and would like to use my existing lenses on this video camera. RAYQUAL seems to be the only one who makes adapters for Sony’s E mount. That are any good, according to internet reviews.
