Category: Peripherals - Tags: controller chip, dual display, Full Hd, Lcd, LR388G9, MDDI 1.2, MIPI, Sharp, Xga

Sharp’s new LR388G9 controller chip allows simultaneous display on two different LCD screens at half-XGA (480 x 1,024) resolution. It not only features double the built-in video memory of its predecessor with 32 Mbits and faster image processing capability but also a high-speed serial interface (MDDI 1.2/MIPI) and a diverse range of other interfaces such as those for cameras, SD memory cards, and IrSimple. In addition, it also allows full HD video to be output to an externally connected device such as an LCD TV, video projector or similar device.
The samples are available now for 2, 400 yen and mass production is planned to start in September this year.
