Canon Japan will offer Finger Print Authentication Software developed by Hitachi Software Engineering for their MEAP Advance-enabled imageRUNNER ADVANCE series of multi-functional peripheral devices (MFPs). As you may know MEAP is an applications development platform running on JAVA J2ME of Sun Microsystems. It allows for the creation of embedded applications for Canon’s ” image RUNNER” series MFPs which are networked devices that print, copy, scan and fax. And MEAP ADVANCE, as its name suggests, is an upgraded version of MEAP that also offers the so-called “Meap connector” and “Meap web”.
The new “Finger Print Authentication Software for MEAP Advance” will be available from July 8 for 128, 000 yen.
