Kohjinsha brand netbooks to be sold under Onkyo-brand from now

Kohjinsha PA series netbook

Taiwan-based company Inventec recently announced their decision to stop releasing netbooks with their sub-brand Kohjinsha and rather concentrate on R & D for new notebooks under their renamed company ” Inventec Development Japan Corporation”. This leaves their partner in Kohjinsha business, the Onkyo Japan as the sole source of upcoming Kohjinsha products but of course all under their own Onkyo brand.

I had once interested Kohjinsha’s SC and SK series, these 7-inch of tablet PCs, but this Kohjinsha brand has been killed.

Kohjinsha notebook and UMPC were began at Yokohama Japan in December 2004, which all the products made by Inventec, —– a largest shareholder of Taiwanese, but the design is by Kohjinsha of Japan. Inventec has increased the capital ratio into Kohjinsha in Feb 2009, (Taiwan’s the Republic of China calendar 98-year), and then Inventec got Kohjinsha’s 61.69% of stake (formerly 42.75%), thus Inventec is already an emperor on Kohjinsha and controls all the things, that you are now saw. In Jun 2010, Inventec dropped the shareholding ratio to 54.58%.

The Kohjinsha brand will be replaced with a successor to become an ONKYO brand, which last year of market, partially Kohjinsha’s notebook has already taken the ONKYO’s brand. ONKYO is the second large shareholder.

Recently, Inventec announced that its invested the Japan’s Kohjinsha Corporation will be renamed the Inventec Development Japan Corporation. Inventec Group’s vice president Mr. XuXinQuan has expressed:
the future mode of operation is like this, Kohjinsha presides over the design, Inventec provides production, the channel sales to be by ONKYO. Kohjinsha’s marketing is no longer needed, so the cost will be reduced, and the second half of 2010 that have the opportunity to reach the profit and loss could be balanced in Q4.

After 2008 is the global economic downturn, as well as many manufacturers joined the netbook market within 2009, thus Kohjinsha was lost money at 2009.
