2010 Vaio C & F series laptops may have overheating problem

According to Yahoo news, yesterday Sony warned that the owners of some models of their 2010 Vaio C and F series laptops may face possible overheating problem due to a defective heat-monitoring chip. Apparently they are recalling 535,000 units sold since January 2010 ( 259,000 laptops in the U.S., 103,000 in Europe, 120,000 in Asia and 52,000 in Japan). You can check on Sony’s support page if yours is affected by entering the serial number of your laptop. Sony also provide a BIOS firmware update to prevent potential overheating.
