Fujitsu Japan launched “Tamatebako” the Self-Destructing USB Memory
You may have already heard about Fujitsu’s smart USB memory but in case not, measuring 70mm × 70mm × 24mm and with a weight of approx. 45 g, Tamatebako encrypts data via AES256bit and protects the data against evildoers with such smart measures as automatically deleting the data if plugged into an unauthorized computer and logged in with a wrong password. You can also set the time frame, which ranges from 10 minutes to up to a week, for it to automatically delete data.
And finally for those of you who may be wondering, “Tamatebako” literally means “treasure box” in Japanese but here is rather used to mean “Pandora’s Box”. Brilliant choice of name I should say…
No word on pricing.
