Epson and Sanyo have formed a joint venture to develop LCD screens for future mobile devices and they succeeded in covering 100% of the NTSC colour spectrum. After NEC we have a new manufacturer (or two in this case) that is joining the battle to create screens of future mobile devices.
At this moment in time we get 3 screens:
2.2″ (QVG) Low Temperature Polysilicon TFT, with a 108% coverage of the NTSC spectrum, 185ppi, 16.77 millions colours
2.8″ (VGA) Low Temperature Polysilicon TFT, with a 100% coverage of the NTSC spectrum, 290ppi, 16.77 millions colours
4.5″ (VGA) Amorphous Silicon TFT, with a 108% coverage of the NTSC spectrum, 180ppi, 260k colours
