Project Natal re-named as “Kinect” unveiled on the eve of E3

Microsoft apparently unveiled the Kinect (formerly talked about as Project Natal) yesterday in Los Angeles at Pre-World Premier, an invitation-only special event ahead of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) starting today.
I am sure you have already heard about the Project Natal but in case Life has made you busy with some errands and you missed the whole thing, the Kinect basically is a motion controller for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Gaming Console. Different from the hand-held controllers, such as the one for Nintendo’s Wii, Kinect can recognize faces and voices thanks to its camera, audio sensors, and gesture-recognition software. Simply put, it eliminates the need to use buttons, instead, allows commanding games or other applications by gestures and voice, or as Microsoft put it “You are the controller”. Kinect also has built-in Wi-Fi and sports a 250GB HDD.
Apparently the audience were also exposed to some game titles during the event including some rafting, Yoga, racer, and dance games. However, the most impressive of all seems to be the Star Wars Game Demo.
More details to come..
