Korea attacks the Japanese telephony

Curitel, the very well-known Korean manufacturer of telephones, is going to offer a Japanese phone on AU by KDDI. The A1405PT will be available by mid-November and it will be a 3G CDMA 1x phone. Technically speaking we get a mind-blowing 0.33MP camera, a 2″ QVGA screen and 20Mb of memory, all in a 47x93x20mm and 98g casing.

Curitel came up with an impressive slogan for this phone: “Simple & Smart” !

Knowing that Japan is an ultra-conservative and ultra-closed country, it must have been a divine intervention to allow this Korean manufacturer to offer a phone on the Japanese market. Japanese protectionism is taken to ridiculous extents that Japanese manufacturers are putting pressure on the government to halt the import of certain products like TV’s (e.g. it’s very difficult to find a LG or Samsung TV over here).
