Buffalo unveiled new Wireless Router and Wireless Unit for TV

Buffalo today unveiled two new devices at press conference here in Tokyo : WLAE-AG300N series “wireless unit” and the Airstation series flagship model, NFiniti High Power Wireless Router WZR-HP-AG300.
The first one was born based on the fact that although 90% of the TVs come with a LAN port the actual internet usage is somewhere around %10 only. And the main reason for that seems to be the inconvenience of using a cable. Hence we are offered WLAE-AG300N series as an effective and consumer-friendly solution. Available either as a pair called “Starter Pack” (WLAE-AG300N/V2) or WLAE-AG300N/V, you can basically see it as a fancy Airport Express. Featuring two LAN ports, it not only allows two digital devices (with LAN ports) such as a TV and a BD Player in different rooms to connect to each other wirelessly but also allows them to have wireless access to internet once connected to a router or connected through LAN. During the press conference, we had a brief demonstration as to how it works. Accordingly, for example, you can connect your TV and BD player through LAN port to the device, doing the same for another TV in another room. And voila, you can watch the same BD content on both TVs. On another senario, you can plug the device to the electric socket on the wall, establish internet connection via LAN cable and through another one of the same device connected to internet-supporting TV/ TVs, you can watch internet content wirelessly. On yet another senario, instead of the wall socket, the device can allow wireless connection through wired-connection to a router. And all that with just one touch of a button (thanks to AOOS SecurityTechnology).
They will be available in Japan from August for 14,600 yen and 7,900 yen respectively.
Regarding the new NFiniti High Power Wireless Router, it is offered in three sets: single unit WZR-HP-AG300H, USB Set WZR-HP-AG300H/U, and Ethernet Set WZR-HP-AG300H/EV(paired with the new WLAE-AG300N series). The main highlight of it is that it allows dual wireless connection as 802.11n/a (2.4GHz) and 11n/g (5GHz) at up to 300Mbps. It also uses MIMO ( Multiple Input Multiple Output) Technology, which refers to the use of multiple antennas for multiple radio transmissions at the same time to maximize performance. No price info.
