3M and Quanto announced DST Touchscreen Technology at Computex

Minnesota-based company 3M and Taiwan’s Quanta Computer Inc. announced the new touchscreen technology they have been working on, the Dispersive Signal Technology (DST). Developed with the target of offering a more sensitive touchscreen solution than the current ones, It is explained by the companies to be a layer of “specially-designed glass” that is capable of detecting both the stylus and finger input with high precision and yet without making the display get thicker.

No word on pricing but the products with this screens are expected to be launched by the end of this year.
