Sony CEATEC 2005

Sony had a booth at CEATEC, and we stopped there to have a look at what they had on offer. To my great surprise, the Akihabara News-name was very well known (maybe I should stop saying bad things about their MemoryStick, otherwise I’m doomed next time)… but anyway, here are some very cool products.

The new NetJuke connects to a network and the Internet and thanks to the AnyMusic system, you can (legally) download music and store it on your mini HiFi set, and you can also connect this on your home network and copy everything to the HDD of your computer.

Your PSP at the heart of your home… connect it to this Sony digital video recorder and you can transfer pictures and videos to your PSPS to make those long commuting trips bearable.

There were several HD video recorders to be admired, and you could compare the difference between a regular DV and a HD camera. Honestly, even on a small HD video recorder, the video quality is much much better than on a regular DV cam.

Sony just had to present some Blu-Ray stuff at CEATEC, and there was a complete booth with Blu-Ray stuff, like this Blu-Ray player/recorder and a Vaio Type X Blu-Ray loaded.

Sony’s 3LCD Technology, or the perfect video projection, was also present. 3LCD is a projection system using three LCD panels (also known as high-temperature polysilicon or HTPS). Images projected with 3LCD are bright, natural and are easy on the eyes). this system was on demo at Sony’s and the comparison between a traditional projector and 3LCD (on the left) was just amazing.
