FIC to Debut its Wintel-based 10.1”W Slate PC, Tycoon at Computex 2010
You thought that FIC will just seat and wait that everyone else launch their Slate before jumping into the market? Well you were dead wrong on this one! Today is Computex 2010 first day and while our little Jimmy is now rushing to the event in Taiwan, FIC sent us a nice little press release regarding their latest goodies, including the Tycoon TVB00 Slate PC. Running windows 7 and powered by an Atom N455 CPU @ 1.66GHz, with 1GB of RAM (Max 2) and a nice 10.1″ LED back-light (1024×600) capacitive multi-touch panel, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth… our little slate will just weight 850g for a total size of 243.5x176x15mm and schedule to be available later this year.
Employing a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455 processor, a large 10.1” 1024×600 capacitive multi-touch widescreen and a micro-SATA type 1.8” hard disk drive, the FIC’s Tycoon TVB00 is offered a full PC function device in a smaller, light weight handheld Slate around 0.85 kg.
“I’m glad to officially announce that FIC is participating in the Slate PC Market,” states Leo Chien, the Chief Operating Officer of FIC. “It’s not our first time to develop the Slate PC. We launched a 10.4-inch SlateVision Slate PC in 2002 and received overwhelming accolades from this product.” “Now, the new Slate features thinner, lighter, multimedia-oriented, WiFi mobility and a characteristic industrial design,” “I’m confident that our Tycoon TVB00 will be the “search no more” product among these Slates,” says Leo Chien, the Chief Operating Officer of FIC.
FIC’s Tycoon TVB00 allows mobile users to communicate via 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 wireless, display presentation through its mini HDMI port and perform overall computing tasks up to 3 hours on a reliable Polymer battery. Equipped with a Broadcom BCM70015 Crystal HD advanced media processor for 1080p high definition video playback and one memory slot up to 2GB of DDR3 667MHz support.
Read and play: The 10.1” wide LED backlight touch screen is large enough for reading eBooks, eNewspapers, eMagazines and interactive media programs. Listening music, watching movies, playing multi-touch gaming all in this device. The Tycoon TVB00 let you have fun everyday no mater you’re in couch, kitchen and bedroom in the house or on the commute, automobile of outdoors.
Browse and work: With built-in 802.11b/g/n WiFi allows you to surf the web, read the email, have online social network through Tycoon TVB00. It also comes with Bluetooth 2.1, letting you connect to the wireless devices like keyboard, mouse, headphone or transfer data wirelessly. The Tycoon TVB00 is capable of running Windows 7 Ultimate operating system, so it’s just like a regular PC that you can work on it for office and business application.
According to FIC’s speaker, the Tycoon TVB00 will be provided with multi colors as optional.
