Sanyo officially unveil the world’s first waterproof Full HD Camera with the Xacti DMX-CA100

Better, Deeper, Stronger,Llighter, this is exactly what the Xacti DMX-CA100 is compared to the previous generation of HD Waterproof Xacti.
Now capable of shooting Full HD Video in both 60i (16Mbps) and 30p (13Mbps) under water the DMX-CA100 pushes further the limits of its predecessor by giving you the possibility to shoot videos deeper and allowing you to go up to 3m maximum for 60 minutes, instead of the previous 1.5m.
Available now with twice as much “Pixels” the DMX-CA100 comes with a new Hi-Speed 14Mpix CMOS censor and newly developed image-processing engine giving you not only a sharper image both out of the water and underwater, but also a burst mode of 1fps/14 photos at 14Mpix or 7fps/22 photos at 2Mpix and finally the pretty useful optical zoom mode with the “Zoom Range” giving you a full Zoom range of 40 to 480mm (12x) divided in 2 modes.
The other improvement and welcome modification includes the support of SDXC, Micro USB in order to both charge and connect your camera to your PC, Mini HDMI, a new Digital IS, “Face Chaser” with up to 12 faces at the same time and complete rethink casing and navigation button for a better usage and control underwater.
Sanyo were kind enough to come to our office earlier this week to give us a quick overview of the camera and so far the changes applied to this new DMX-CA100 are more than welcome. We also had the chance to enjoy some video shootings underwater, and that we will soon be able to share with you, they are just wonderful… So just on time for this summer, the DMX-CA100 may soon be a must-have for your holidays.
Update : Here you are an official Video from Sanyo where the DMX-CA100 has been used underwater to shoot some pretty nice videos.
